#SGAM2017 Remember Tomorrow - Elena Yamamoto - Intro Scene

This is the intro scene for Elena Yamamoto. As I decided not to control this PC, I let the oracular results guide as much as possible of everything (since the Controller of the PC is in charge of all content during the Introduction scene, unless they choose to have someone help to roleplay it out).

Generated phrases are in brackets ([]). These were generated by using keywords from the PC's character sheet and/or relevant game flavor text from the RPG book itself. From the results I quickly selected any phrases that showed potential. Then, the scene is built by choosing the most interesting ones that made sense as a GM response.

In a way, it's a bit like jigsaw pieces assembled to build the scene (or maybe more like an archaeologist putting broken pieces together to recreate a picture). Whenever I got stuck or felt like it made sense, I looked for more keywords in the character sheet/game text as well as the already established fiction for the scene. The process is cyclical.

At some point, I will fix the format of this actual play to fit that of Maxim's (next post linked at bottom).

I've converted this game text to the spreadsheet format I started using in subsequent posts, which can be found here: Elena Yamamoto - Intro Scene. The mechanics and notes can be found there in separate columns from the play fiction.

Actual play (new format sans mechanics):

She found her target in a cheap coffin hotel, sleeping in frayed khakis. A sense of utter quiet filled the hallway outside the capsule rooms as she regarded him calmly. She was small, but muscular; her mouth was set with a hard look.

She extended the blades in her right hand and he woke up startled. "Hey, how long have you been there?"

"You thought you would take a little something out to Singapore, didn't you, Bancroft?"

He fumbled in the dark, but Elena's senses were sharp and bright. She moved in a sinuous flow of muscle, and before long she had hauled his ass up and out of his capsule room. The cheap pistol he was hiding clattered on the hallway floor as he dropped it. Elena put her razor tips under his throat.

"You can work with me or I can make things real hard for you."

"We beat you. The Russian engineer is already in Singapore," the man named Bancroft said. "I shit on you and your boss."

"You're full of shit."

Suddenly, Bancroft swung at her hard, but all he got for his trouble was a puncture wound that looked like a throat biopsy. Elena knew his murder was to be an example to others. 

After notifying Okada of her results, she asked for instructions.

"Good work. Now take care of his family," Okada said in her commlink.

A voice within her told her she did not want to do this but another part of her reminded her that she was powerless in the scheme of things. The only way for her to rise from the bottom and therefore change her existential situation was to obtain power.

Looking through the body, she found what looked like Singaporean names with addresses in the Shinjuku area. Perhaps they were connected with a Singaporean bank known to operate in that part of Tokyo.

[hard and fumbled at the black] He fumbled in the dark.

[muscle senses sharp and bright he]  Her senses sharp and bright,

[into the sinuous flow of muscle] she moved in a sinuous flow of muscle, 

[razorgirls to haul my ass up] and before long she had hauled his ass up and out of the capsule room.

[far end it popped cheap hardware] The cheap pistol he was hiding clattered on the floor as he dropped it.

[razor dipping for his throat like] Elena put her razor tips under his throat.

[things they can work real hard] Elena: "You can work with me or I can make things real hard for you."

[singapore he beat a russian engineer] [flies on shit and your boss] Bancroft: "We beat you. The Russian engineer is already in Singapore. I shit on you and your boss," he spat.  

[say you were full of shit] Elena: "You're full of shit."

[meperidine he swung the glass hard] Suddenly, he swung at her hard (trying to surprise her?).

[little biopsy he laughed showing more] But all he got for his trouble was a little throat "biopsy".

[killed to make an example it] His murder was to be an example to others.  

[observe the protocol ask the boss ] After notifying Okada of her results, she asked for instructions.

[killed his wife mainly you want] [killed the little kid who put] "Good work. Now take care of his family."

[chip voice do not you want] A voice within her told her she did not want to do this.

[did not have any real power ] Then another voice reminded her that she was powerless in the scheme of things.

[rise from the cracks in the] This was the only way to rise herself from the bottom and change her existential situation.

(The below seem to suggest Elena obtaining some contact information to follow the trail, perhaps from a cellphone on the body.

I will assign them to Ready and Willing respectively. Will spend them to raise each of those stats by one.
